In 2010, INAS will be running a project called ‘INAS Moving Forward’.

What is ‘INAS Moving Forward’?
‘INAS Moving Forward’ is about ensuring that the organisation is in the best possible position to take advantage of future opportunities.

This includes: raising the profile of sport for people with an intellectual disability in the lead up to the 2012 Paralympic Games, showcasing our athletes and events amongst the World’s media, and ensuring that we maximise our income from fundraising and sponsorship.

What benefits will there be?
We want to improve the profile and recognition of athletes with an intellectual disability, but also strengthen the organisation to ensure it can meet the demands of the future.

Sport has changed rapidly in recent years and INAS needs to overcome the problems caused by global recession but also take advantage of new media such as electronic communication.

It is particularly important that we develop and increase our membership – increasing the number of member nations and developing our member services – especially is less developed areas of the World.

And we want to introduce develop our services and events programme.

Where are we now?
The research has been concluded, and a series of reccomendations have been agreed by the Executive. We are now working on a new website, new logo and new identity which we hope to launch in the Summer.

We are also developing a business plan to help the organisation develop and grow. This will also be published in the Summer.

What if I have questions?
If you have questions or want to talk about the project, then please contact Nick Parr at the INAS Secretariat.
